Latest Mount Cook Updates 2025:

  • A new 189-metre suspension bridge is under construction on the iconic Hooker Valley Track, replacing the old bridge closed in April 2025 due to flood damage.

  • While the full Hooker Valley track is expected to reopen in autumn 2026, the lower section remains accessible, including the Mueller Lake lookout and Kea Point track.

  • Plan ahead and check trail updates before visiting, peak season (November to March) brings higher foot traffic and limited accommodation availability in Mount Cook Village.
